PROGRAMME EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

The performance of any programme is evaluated based on the outcome of the graduates rather than outputs. The programme educational objectives are listed below

  • Graduates will have a successful career in core and allied engineering or associated industries or higher education or as entrepreneurs or in research.
  • Graduates of the programme will provide the optimized solution for complex engineering problems in chosen Technical area.
  • Graduates of the programme will exhibit continuous improvement in their profession through life-long learning, upholding human values and ethics.
  • PROGRAMME OUTCOMES

    The students should be able to acquire the following outcomes by fulfilling the objectives (POs) after successful completion of the courses.

  • Engineering Knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
  • Problem Analysis: Identify, formulate, research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
  • Design / Development of Solution: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
  • Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
  • Modern Tool Usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.
  • Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.
  • Individual and team work: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.

  • ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

    The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering was established in the year 2002. It offers a UG Course namely B.E Electrical and Electronics Engineering, which was started in the year 2002 with a sanctioned intake of 60. B.E. Electrical and Electronics Engineering was accredited by the National Board of Accreditation for a period of three years (2009-2012). It offers PG Courses, namely, M.E. Power Systems Engineering, which was started in the year 2012 with a sanctioned intake of 18.The department strongly, believes in working towards a goal to make the students from engineer to skilled professional. The department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering in V.S.B. Engineering College is a centre of erudition, where we nurture young talents in different fields of Engineering. Our major emphasis of imparting technical training is to encourage curiosity and innovativeness among our students and lay a foundation from where they can acquire quick learning ability and adapt to the fast changing needs of the industry.

    ABOUT THE COURSE

    The Electrical and Electronics Engineering degree program prepares graduates to enter a dynamic and rapidly changing field with career opportunities in Electric power, Integrated circuits, Robotics and control, Computer hardware and software. The demand for Electrical Power is increasing rapidly and thereby Electrical Engineers are in great demand to meet the requirements. Our campus is an exciting place to study and grow where thinkers become leaders, where there is a thirst for knowledge. The interaction between students and professors greatly enriches the educational experience for all. Our campus provides students with opportunities to gain and use knowledge to build successful lives and career and become an integral part of the community. The department laboratories are well-equipped and commensurate with licensed software such as MATLAB and ETAP for solving analyzing power system problems. The department has adequate infrastructure to do research in Power Systems. Our faculty members are experts in the areas they teach. Not only do they provide a solid grounding in the academic theories and concepts of their specialty but they also provide challenges for the students, facing their discipline. They provide the students the right balance of theory and practice. We emphasize team work to give opportunity to each student to benefit from the ideas and intelligence of their classmates. We continue to strive to meet our mission to mould youth into world-class technocrats of tomorrow who would endeavour to increase the quality of life for mankind. I am confident that our students would be an asset to our organization with their technical and managerial capabilities. On the whole, we are committed towards creating and erecting a professional graduate community which is vivacious with continuous learning.
